Experience of work at the Robert Bosch GmbH
Since 2017, I am working at the Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart/Feuerbach.
Academic Background
Doctoral (research) study
I received my PhD degree from the University of Stuttgart in 2017 for the fundamental research in the field of Mobile Computing. My dissertation „Efficient Code Offloading Techniques for Mobile Applications“ proposes multiple approaches to increase the energy efficiency and execution speed of (resource-constrained) mobile devices like smart phones. To this end, a (resource-constrained) mobile device dynamically executes the resource-intensive parts from an application on powerful (remote) server instances in the infrastructure like the Cloud, preventing the limited resource of energy on the mobile device from a quick exhaustion.
Diploma study
I received my Diploma degree from the University of Stuttgart in 2012. My diploma thesis „Efficient Energy-Constrained Distribution of Context in Mobile Systems“ proposes an efficient energy-constrained distribution that minimizes the occurrences of an update while simultaneously maximizes the accuracy of the context. This includes a model of the user context – using a probabilistic approach based on a Markov chain – and a determination of the optimal points in time for an update based on dynamic programming – using different methods of a constrained optimization problem like linear programming, non-linear programming, and a constrained Markov decision process. For instance, keeping the number of sent messages equal, the different methods show an accuracy gain of more than 30%.
